EMC-safe and Robust Automotive Gigabit Connectivity

KD9351 from KDPOF provides efficient and flexible optical connectivity for safe backbone and ADAS sensor links in vehicles

Optical connectivity perfectly solves the challenges posed by electrical interference in vehicles thanks to its low weight, low cost, and electromagnetic compatibility due to inherent galvanic isolation. With the integrated KD9351 Fiber Optic Transceiver (FOT) in combination with the proven KD1053 PHY IC, KDPOF reduces the cost for optical in-vehicle Ethernet networks at 1 Gb/s, compared to STP (shielded twisted pair of copper wires).

With the comprehensive EVK9351AUT evaluation kit, carmakers, suppliers, and test houses can already test the new configuration at 1 Gb/s today. The new Funzin AIoT Platform “FAIP 3.0” and Edge AI Device “Photon” are based on KDPOF’s IC and FOT. In order to fulfill the needs of future connected and automated vehicles, KDPOF is working on an optical automotive multi-gigabit system.
